The Asian Society of Veterinary Internal Medicine (AiSVIM) is a regional academic society established to provide a sustainable platform for veterinarians across Asia, building upon the academic collaboration fostered through the Asian Meetings of Animal Medicine Specialties (AMAMS).

AiSVIM traces its origin to 2007, when the first Asian Veterinary Internal Medicine Meeting was held in Hangzhou, China.

AiSVIM is a professional community of veterinarians dedicated to advancing clinical standards, strengthening postgraduate education, and promoting scientific exchange in veterinary internal medicine. By fostering collaboration across countries and practice settings, AiSVIM supports the continued development of the field throughout Asia.

Currently, AiSVIM brings together members from more than 14 countries across Asia, representing over 220 veterinarians.

One of AiSVIM’s central activities is the AiSVIM Meeting. Evolving from the internal medicine sessions within AMAMS, the Meeting is hosted in rotation across Asian countries and provides a forum for research presentation, clinical discussion, continuing education, and professional networking.

Within this framework, the Asian College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (AiCVIM) serves as the body responsible for specialist training and board certification. While AiCVIM advances structured specialist development, AiSVIM encompasses the broader professional community in which specialist expertise is cultivated and academic exchange is sustained.

Through these complementary roles, AiSVIM contributes to the advancement and maturation of veterinary internal medicine across Asia.
